We say farewell to 2016, in which Umbrellas of Edinburgh was born and multiplied. We’ve enjoyed various book events, including readings at the Scottish Poetry Library, Blackwells and The Cameo Cinema, with more to follow!

The book’s been selling incredibly well, with stores struggling to keep their stocks. The Scottish Book Trust named Umbrellas of Edinburgh as one of their 17 Brilliant Scottish Poetry Books, The Scottish Poetry Library named it as one of their best books of 2016, there was a short piece in The Scotsman, and it featured on the Janice Forsyth show (from 1hr 28min) during an interview with contributor Gerda Stevenson.

We’ve also had some awesome reviews…

Aoife Lyall said: “it is for those who love poetry; the poetry of living, of dying, of storytelling.”

Scots Whay Hae said: “the most complete and rounded depiction of this famous city to date.”

Write Out Loud called it a “landmark anthology”: “The team at Freight Books are to be congratulated on bringing this project to fruition.”

Thank you again to everyone who’s been involved in making this book such a success!
